The Watchtower project” brings live streaming VR watchtowers to the world’s most pressing environmental conflict areas
In a unique collaboration New Media artist Thijs Biersteker and the Technical University (TU) of Delft aim to bring live streaming virtual reality cameras to the world’s remotest ecological disasters that are happening as we speak.
The growing amount of ocean plastic, whale slaughters, deforestation, dying coral reefs and oil spills get a live 360º video feed that everyone with a telephone and a cheap cardboard can see, giving the world eyes they can’t turn away. The first watchtowers are estimated to appear halfway 2019.
